Next month Seun Kuti & Egypt 80 touch down in London to bring their unique afrobeat sound to 229 The Venue. So we're giving one lucky reader the chance to win two tickets to this unmissable concert.
Son of afrobeat legend Fela Kuti, Seun Anikulapo Kuti has won critical and public acclaim in his own right. As well as playing songs from his father's rich repertoire, Seun performs his own politically aware compositions – with the help of Fela's own legendary group, Egypt 80.
Just last month Seun and Egypt 80 performed at The Shrine, the legendary Lagos venue that once formed part of Fela's Kalakuta Republic commune - and served as the backdrop for FELA! the musical, which is still dazzling audiences on its ongoing world tour.
The concert at 229 The Venue is the only London date on Seun's new European tour, which also takes in Brussels, Belgium (October 20); Marseille, France (October 21); Aquitaine, France (October 26); Nantes, France (October 27); Copenhagen, Denmark (October 28); Norway (October 29); Liverpool, UK (November 3); and Zurich, Switzerland (November 5).
